Privacy policy
SWYA is a shopping list. It keeps what you need to buy, where you buy it, and who you share the list with. It does not sell data or track you across other apps, and the only ads in it are banners we put there ourselves.
Effective November 4, 2026
SWYA is published by [PUBLISHER]. For anything in this policy, write to [CONTACT_EMAIL].
| Your phone number | To sign you in with a one-time code, and so the people you share a list with can add you by number. |
|---|---|
| Your display name | Shown to the people on your shared lists. Optional. |
| Your lists | Items, quantities, notes, brands, the day you buy them and how often they come back. |
| Your shops | The shops you add and say you use, with their addresses. |
| Where things were bought | When you tick an item off on a shop’s screen, which shop it was. Not where you were standing. |
| A notification address | A token that lets us send this phone a notification, and whether you want to receive them. |
Your position stays on your phone. SWYA never sends us where you are, and we do not keep a history of where you have been.
Location is used in two places, and only if you allow it:
You can switch location off at any time in your phone’s settings. The list keeps working; the reminders and the nearby search stop.
The people you share a list with see that list: its items, who added and bought them, and your name and phone number. If you tick off the first item on a shared list, they may get a notification saying you have started shopping, and from which shop if you ticked it off on that shop’s screen.
Nobody else. We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.
To run the app we rely on a few services, which handle data only to provide their part of it:
| Supabase | Stores your account and lists, and sends the sign-in code by text message. |
|---|---|
| Finds nearby shops, draws the map on Android, and delivers notifications to Android phones. | |
| Apple | Draws the map on iPhone and delivers notifications to iPhones. |
| Expo | Passes notifications on to Google and Apple. |
The home screen may show a banner, marked Sponsored. We choose and upload these ourselves. There is no advertising network in SWYA, and nothing about you — not your lists, your shops or where you are — is used to decide which banner you see.
We count how many times each banner is shown and tapped, without recording who saw or tapped it. Tapping a banner opens the advertiser’s page in your browser; what happens there is covered by their own privacy policy, not this one.
Everything travels encrypted. On the server, every request is checked against who is signed in, so a list can only be read by the people on it.
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. It takes effect at once.
Deleting your account removes:
Lists you share with someone else are not deleted, because they are theirs too. They pass to whoever has been on them longest, and the items you added stay on them without your name. Shop names you added may remain, without anything linking them to you.
If you can no longer open the app, email [CONTACT_EMAIL] from anywhere, with the phone number on the account. We will confirm it is yours by a code sent to that number, and delete it within 30 days.
While your account exists we keep your information for as long as you keep it in the app. Ticked-off items stay in your calendar until you clear them.
SWYA is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep information about them.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If a change affects what we collect or who sees it, we will tell you in the app first.
